Black Friday, and the air was already buzzing with holiday excitement. Kayla & I were at my friend Patti's house, ready to tackle her annual Christmas tree decorating extravaganza. (We decorated a total of 5 trees that day.) The video below showcases her dining room tree. This year, we were aiming for a vintage, country feel with a mix of reds, greens, and natural elements.
First up, the ribbon. Patti had this gorgeous ribbon from Raz Imports, a bit of a splurge but worth it for the festive touch. We played around with different combinations, finally settling on a double-stranded design with a touch of plaid for some visual interest.
Next, we started adding ornaments. We had a mix of vintage finds, sentimental keepsakes, and some new additions. I loved how we mixed in some unexpected elements like little rolling pins and decorative picks. We experimented with placement, moving ornaments around until we found the perfect balance.
One of my favorite parts was adding the finishing touches. We used some delicate white berries and a few sprigs of greenery to fill in any gaps and create a sense of fullness. Then, we carefully placed some decorative birds on the branches, creating a whimsical and playful touch.
